Meta Connect 2022: Arthur, Oculus Quest Pro and the future of collaboration

“Work is really the next major category of experiences that we want to unlock, to bring VR to the next level” - Andrew “Boz” Bosworth, CTO of Meta.

This Tuesday, together with everyone interested in technology, we watched Meta Connect 2022. This year we saw a clear commitment to productivity - both during the keynote and in the developers sessions afterward. Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, together with Andrew “Boz” Bosworth, discussed productivity, collaboration, and the future of work in great detail.

“You can really collaborate at a distance, in a completely new way here,” said Mark Zuckerberg. And it is true for the new hardware that Meta announced during Connect. Meta Quest Pro was developed with productivity at the forefront, marking a new era of professional collaboration and work happening in Virtual and Mixed Reality. It is a new line of advanced headsets with the main goal of expanding the possibilities of mixed and virtual reality. Other benefits include better visuals, reduced size, and better ergonomics. A full-color mixed-reality interface is an exciting feature that becomes available with Oculus Quest Pro. It allows us to get the maximum out of both the real and virtual worlds. It has the potential to improve social presence, productivity, and collaboration. New eye tracking and natural facial expressions featured on Meta Quest Pro will also aid advanced social presence. From our perspective, these new capabilities will allow us to offer an even better work experience for our customers using the Quest headsets.

We at Arthur want you to be at the forefront of innovation, which is why we are happy to inform you that the Arthur app will be available on Oculus Quest Pro as and when the device gets to the market.

“With the advent of high-end professional mixed reality, a lot of things that we previously could only dream of are now a reality. A few years down the road, we may very well look back at this period now and recognize that this was the time when spatial computing started to become the next computing platform - with professional work and collaboration as spearheading use cases.” - Christoph Fleischmann, Founder and CEO of Arthur Technologies.

Events like Meta Connect have a tremendous influence on the entire industry, and we are proud that Arthur was a part of it. Our innovative work was recognized multiple times during Meta Connect 2022. Andrew “Boz” Bosworth, mentioned Arthur as a leading collaboration platform during the keynote. He highlighted our partnership with ITC: “ITC, a part of the United Nations, are running trainings and workshops in Arthur, a virtual office space on Quest 2.”

Moreover,  Anand Dass mentioned Arthur in the Developer State of the Union, and our Co-founder and Head of Product, Nik Treiber, was invited to speak on the future of avatars. He held the presentation on the topic: “Enrich Expressivity of Your Apps with Presence Platform,” where he discussed the Movement SDK and its benefits.

All this recognition validates the product we are building and the work we are doing to help our customers unlock a new level of productivity. We continue to innovate and bring the best to enable enterprise collaboration possibilities like never before. Stay tuned for more!
